Le Château
Pouget took its name with the arrival of François-Antoine Pouget at the head of the vineyard in 1748. The
maréchal-duc
of Richelieu, who was very fond of wine, gave him the coat of arms
always on the label. But Château Pouget really comes into its own
in the history of great Bordeaux wines in 1855, when it achieved
fourth Grand Cru Classé.
