Château Mouton Rothschild is a renowned Médoc winery located in the commune of Pauillac. It produces one of Bordeaux's most prestigious wines, in the Pauillac appellation. Second Grand Cru in the official Bordeaux Wine Classification of 1855, it is the only wine whose classification has been modified, becoming Premier Grand Cru in 1973.
Originally named Château Mouton, it has been owned by the English branch of the Rothschild family since 1853. Every year since 1945, the label has been illustrated by a famous artist (including Chagall, Miro, Picasso...).
